Job Description:
Basic Job Function:

To ensure the safety and security of the guests, members, and staff of Sea Island. To protect the property of Sea Island Company and the property of our guests, members, and staff while in the care of Sea Island from fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other circumstance that would disturb the peace and good order of the Resort property. To promote the Sea Island legacy of providing warm, genuine hospitality to our guests, members, and staff while upholding and ensuring compliance with all Sea Island Company and Sea Island Security Department policies and procedures. To prevent unauthorized persons from accessing Sea Island property. To mentor, train, coach, discipline, and assist in scheduling Security Officers in the Sea Island Security Department. To assist the Assistant Director of Security and Director of Security in managing the Security Department, and assume the responsibilities of the Assistant Director or the Director of Security in their absences. To oversee the third shift (overnight) Security team and provide management support to the overnight Sea Island staff as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of three (3) years private security, military, and/or law enforcement experience required. An Associate’s Degree or greater in a related field of study or two (2) years of supervisory experience in the Security or Hospitality industry. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification Current Defensive Driving Course Certification Must possess good judgement, decision making skills, initiative, cooperation, and discretion Candidate must possess patience and have the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in changing situations Most possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people in cooperation with coworkers efficiently and effectively. Must be detailed oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in current Windows version and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to understand and become proficient in Security Department software tools such as: OPERA, GateSure, HotSOS, and CompleteView.

Proficient with peripherals:

copier, fax, telephone and calculator. Valid GA Driver’s License or valid State issued Driver’s License with the ability to obtain a GA Driver’s License within 30 days. Primary position is for the Third (Overnight) shift, however, candidate must be flexible to work days, evenings, nights on holidays and weekends, as required for training, department/manager meetings, and when directed by the Assistant Director or Director for department scheduling needs. Possess the ability to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changes Must attend a supervisory level training course in managing employees Must understand and demonstrate a complete understanding of Sea Island Company’s Coaching, Counseling, and Disciplinary Policy Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in a clean uniform and following company

Dress Code Policy Tasks/Responsibilities:

Responsible for the oversight of the Overnight Security team. Train, support, and instruct Security Officers in the required skills, policies, and procedures of the Security Department Assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Security Department in the absence of the Assistant Director and Director of Security, within the command structure of the Security Department. Oversee the performance of security personnel and report observations to the Assistant Director of Security. Ensure Security Officers and Sea Island Staff are practicing safety protocols, and correct as necessary. Manage the follow up of Security Officer Daily Reports Review, Edit, Approve, and Distribute Security Reports (General, Employee Injury/Illness, Incident, Vehicle Accident) per the Security Department guidelines; notify Security Officers of needed corrections Oversee the Expected Arrivals guest pass labels function from creation to print & posting. Patrol Sea Island property and report any safety issues or concerns to the proper Sea Island channels and follow up as necessary. Investigate incidents of theft and/or guest/member complaints as directed by Senior Security Management. Analyze incidents & accidents that occur during the shift and determine the course of action to be taken; notify Security Management and key Sea Island Company personnel using proper descretionary measures. Assist Sea Island staff with pending guest/member situations as requested Responsible for the evaluation of Security Officer job performance Responsible the the coaching, counseling, and disciplining of Security Officers, as needed Be proficient in the Security Department utilized computer systems software and assist in the training/use of Security Officers Primary Administrator for the Security Department Computer Based learning courses; such as PALs and Skilport Courses from Human Resources including the tracking of completion and notification of deadlines and issued courses to Security Officers. Maintain liason with local Law Enforcement agencies, and provide support to local police when called to Sea Island property, or when requested down Sea Island Drive. Observe departing staff to guard against theft of company property. Check residences of Sea Island Company executives when requested. Maintain and enforce the company Guiding Priciples of Financial Responsibility. Monitor and ensure that Security Officers are not abusing the Security Department budget with unapproved or unnecessary overtime. Approved Security Officer Shift Swap Requests in accordance with Security Department Policy. Assist and approve scheduling of employees and ensure shifts and posts are covered when employee callouts occur. Track employee call-outs and late for shift calls, and ensure follow up coaching/counseling/disciplinary in accordance with the Security Department Attendance Policy. Learn the names and personally recognize regular Sea Island guests and members. Complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved and unsolved issues) as needed Answer any questions guests may have about Sea Island or the area to the best of one’s ability Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas, and ensure Security Officers are maintaining their work areas. Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures immediately to the Assistant Director of Security and proper Sea Island personnel to correct the issue as soon as possible. Attends all scheduled Sea Island Company meetings, Security Department meetings, and Management Team meetings, and brings suggestions for improvement Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by Security and Senior Company leadership

Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy. Ability to lift, carry, pull and push up to 50 pounds intermittently throughout a shift Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazards Maintain compliance with Company Resort Professional Image Policy
