Job Summary:

Provide security detail as outlined in the postorders and establish working relationships with customers, locallaw enforcement and fire departments. Security personnel willalways perform job duties with a constant awareness ofsurroundings, making note of all activity that takes place in theassigned area. Security Officers must maintain a professional imageand always demonstrate excellent customer service.

Basic Functions:

Control of entrances and movement of pedestrian and vehicletraffic. Patrol of buildings and perimeters. Escort of material andpersonnel. Inspection of security and fire exposures. Specialassignments.

Responsibilities:

Duties may vary depending ondepartment size, organizational structure, geographic location andpost assignments. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allowfor certain ADA requirements. Overall general function of officersis to provide security detail as described below (

Note:

duties mayvary depending on post orders): Be on time and report to post infull uniform. Maintain professional image that includes greetingcustomers, visitors and employees in a polite and friendly manner.

Be proactive in knowing all revisions to post orders and generalinformation distributed by the customer and AFS. Patrol physicalproperty or maintain fixed post position, being diligent to reportany suspicious activity and investigate accidents and criminalacts. Monitor cameras or equipment in a continuous fashion asoutlined in the post orders. Maintain a working knowledge of allemergency policies, procedures and regulations to be able torespond to alarms, incidents and emergency situations. CompleteDaily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports and allrelevant reports related to job assignment. Make recommendations tomanagement on better safety and loss prevention processes asidentified during daily routine. Have knowledge of any life safetysystems, fire panels, CCTV system computer, and other suchequipment to complete job assignments. Ensure continuous and safeoperation of all elevators and access doors. Know authorizedcontractor personnel who are responsible for maintenance and upkeepof equipment. Ensure training and compliance guidelines are met asoutlined by AFS and other agencies regulating the customer /market. Communicate on a daily basis with Security Supervisor anynew Security Issues or changes that need to be considered orimplemented.

A security officer is to behonest, alert and well-disciplined as the custodians of employeeand customer property and safety. Constant and dedicated vigilance.
