The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This position requires a proactive approach to surveillance, loss prevention, and conflict management, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed diligently. Responsibilities Monitor and patrol designated areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity. Operate surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems, to ensure comprehensive coverage of the premises. Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, taking appropriate action as necessary. Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify potential security risks or hazards. Enforce rules and regulations while maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions. Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying theft or fraud attempts and reporting incidents accordingly. Provide first aid and CPR assistance when required, ensuring the safety of individuals in emergency situations. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed during incidents or investigations. Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes. Qualifications Valid security officer certification or equivalent training is preferred. Experience in surveillance techniques and loss prevention strategies is highly desirable. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively. Knowledge of first aid and CPR procedures; certification is a plus. Familiarity with law enforcement protocols and procedures is advantageous. Proficiency in operating CCTV systems and other security technologies. A background in military service is considered an asset but not mandatory. Excellent observational skills with attention to detail to identify potential security threats. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective reporting and interaction with others.
