06/01/2025 Position Summary The 3rd Shift Cultural Security Officer plays a critical role in asset protection and workplace safety during overnight hours. Operating within a technically advanced environment and command center, this officer provides a professional security presence while ensuring the safety of the museum’s assets, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities include facility patrols, identifying hazards, monitoring systems, and responding appropriately to alarm events and emergencies. This role also supports the integrity and proper function of security and HVAC systems. Minimum Job Qualifications Technical experience with museum security operations and facilities management CPR certification required IFCPP and/or ASIS training and certification preferred Reliable and consistent transportation Essential Functions & Primary Responsibilities Monitor security alarms, surveillance feeds, and HVAC/building management software Conduct regular foot patrols following post orders Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies Identify and report safety hazards and environmental risks Enforce gallery rules, event guidelines, and protocols professionally Maintain accurate records, including incident reports and shift logs Provide after-hours on-call support as required Attend professional training, seminars, and conferences to remain updated on security best practices and technologies Collaborate with colleagues, staff, and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of physical security procedures and risk response Basic computer skills for operating hardware/software, monitoring systems, and completing digital logs Effective communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to organizational values: Integrity, Communication, Excellent Service, and Accountability Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays, weekends, and special events Ability to work independently, follow written and verbal instructions, and complete tasks thoroughly Capacity to assess emergencies and respond appropriately
