Current MaineHealth employees not eligible for the sign on bonus. Must be separated from MaineHealth system for 6 months to be eligible.
Summary
The Security Officer role is responsible for monitoring the healthcare environment to help prevent security incidents from occurring and deescalating incidents as they emerge. May provide protective services and, with sufficient training, patient restraints as deemed necessary by medical staff.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education:

High school diploma or GED preferred. If appropriate for location, must obtain IAHSS certification within one year of hire required.

License/Certifications:

Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Valid Driver’s license if required at local Health System. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or similar to be completed within local Health System requirements. Completion of HIC 100, 200, and 700 if required by facility.

Experience:

Relevant experience in hospital safety and security preferred.
