This full-time position offers a unique schedule: you’ll work three 12-hour shifts, have two days off, then work two 12-hour shifts, followed by three days off, including every other weekend off. This is a full-time position with 48 hours one week and 36 hours the next week. Guaranteed 8 hours of overtime every other week. About the Role As a 2nd Shift Security Guard, you will be a vital part of maintaining the safety and security of our private resort. You’ll primarily be stationed at the guardhouse, serving as the first point of contact for all incoming owners, guests, and vendors. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle various situations professionally and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities Access Control:

Verify IDs for all incoming owners, guests, and vendors; ensure proper documentation for pets; issue day-use tags; and enforce resort entry policies.

Administrative Duties:

Accurately manage cash register and petty cash, process department money bags, log keys and radios, and maintain detailed shift records in the Pass Along Book (PAB).

Communication & Coordination:

Answer telephones, relay messages, communicate effectively with staff and guests, and coordinate with patrolling guards and other departments as needed.

Monitoring & Response:

Monitor security emails, conduct wellness checks on patrolling guards, respond to alarms, and act appropriately in emergency situations, including contacting emergency personnel when necessary.

Resort Operations Support:

Assist with guest check-ins after reservations close, collect payments, and ensure accurate guest information is recorded in our system (SPI).

Maintain Guardhouse:

Ensure the guardhouse is kept clean and orderly.

Reporting:

Accurately fill out daily reports and incident reports as needed.

Experience & Skills:

Ability to maintain accurate records. Strong comprehension of policies, procedures, and concepts to respond appropriately to various situations. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to walk up and down stairs, stand for long periods, and work outside in various extreme weather conditions.

Reliability:

Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and a reliable source of transportation.

Availability:

Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Pre-employment Requirements Employment with Lost Valley Lake Resort is contingent upon a successful background screen and pre-employment drug test. A Social Security Card is required, and direct deposit is a condition of employment for payroll purposes. Applicants who have failed a pre-employment screen or have been terminated from Lost Valley Lake Resort are ineligible for employment consideration for 12 months from the date of their incident.
