$31.3K – $36.1K a year 9 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Microsoft Excel Writing skills High school diploma or GED First Aid Certification Organizational skills Communication skills Entry level Law enforcement Full Job Description Ministry Function The Security Specialist supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope by providing a safe and secure environment for all team members and guests at the Convoy of Hope Global Headquarters and World Distribution Center, and further limits access to unauthorized persons to protect people, information, and property within. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Maintains responsibility for the physical site security of the Convoy of Hope Global Headquarters and World Distribution Center and protects employees from threats or dangers that may present themselves during operating hours. Works closely with the U.S. Security Director. Ensures facility access protocol from the receptionist desk. Maintains proper building entrance protocol by checking ID badges, verifying nature of business of non-employees, and ensuring all guests requiring escorts are provided a temporary badge and are being properly escorted. Notifies management of security vulnerabilities and assists in the development of procedures to strengthen the physical security of the Convoy of Hope Global Headquarters and World Distribution Center. Monitors all activities at the Convoy of Hope Headquarters and World Distribution Center during operating hours. Monitors electronic security systems, including cameras and entry controls. Documents incidents relating to Convoy of Hope property and/or personnel. Observes and reports activity to protect the organization and employees’ property from theft and/or damage and to provide protection in situations that endanger the well-being of the organization, facilities, employees, and guests. Maintains firearm proficiency as well as CPR and First Aid certifications. Fulfills all other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Safety and security and/or law enforcement experience is preferred. CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred. Is proficient with firearms and can lawfully carry a concealed weapon per Missouri state statute. Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural setting with people of diverse backgrounds. Is able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Exhibits exceptional communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates the ability to pay close attention to details. Displays strong organizational skills for handling several projects at one time. Demonstrates the ability to maintain utmost confidentiality in dealing with sensitive issues. Possesses the ability to use a PC and software programs, including but not limited to Google Drive, Monday.com, Word, and Excel. Attends and actively participates in Convoy of Hope At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members. Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry. Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies. As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that team members embrace the organization’s religious purposes for which it exists and not only agree with its Statement of Faith but demonstrate it in their lives on an ongoing Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities at this time.
