JOB SUMMARY
This Security Officer position is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of patients, employees, and visitors, as well as the assets of the organization. This position reports to the Director of Security.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate Degree in a related field preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Must be able to pass certification course in firearms within 3 months of hire. Attend, complete and/or certify on training required by the BRHC Director of Security or BRHC Leadership. BLS required. Active/current driver’s license.
Work Experience:
2+ years’ experience in law enforcement, security or the military strongly encouraged. Must be 21 years of age or older.
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES
Secures the premises by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings and access points. Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities and restraining trespassers. Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security related situations. Provides needed assistance to patients, employees, and visitors following department procedures. Immediately responds to emergencies to secure the area and provide necessary assistance. Works efficiently under pressure in an empathetic, positive, and professional manner. Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Work both indoors and outside. Exposure to variety of weather conditions. 2. Frequent patient contact as well as contact with the public. 3. Involvement in hazardous or potentially violent situations is possible. 4. Duties require frequent walking, lifting, bending, and long periods of standing on feet.
