The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining a secure environment and supporting Stewpot’s missions in serving the community. Flexible scheduling during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some overtime may be necessary and will be required to work nights during times of emergency shelter and weekends.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Ensure the safety of clients and staff by enforcing security protocols and regulations. Respond promptly to emergency situations, including disturbances, alarms, and potential threats. Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and security logs. Monitor and patrol the facility grounds to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or wrongdoing. Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary. Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients, staff, and visitors. Conduct security checks and inspections of equipment and property. Assist in emergency evacuation procedures and drills. Report and escalate any security concerns to management as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certifications are a plus. Previous experience in a security role or law enforcement is preferred. Must possess a Firearm’s License required by the State of Mississippi. Strong observational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
