Description of Work It’s that time of year again and we’re excited about the upcoming 2025 NC State Fair! We are seeking Non-Sworn Security Officers, Incident Management Team Staff, Telecommunicators and Certified Detention Officers to staff the annual NC State Fair that will begin on Thursday, October 16 and end on Sunday, October 26. If you enjoy people, working in a fast-paced environment, could use a little extra cash, and being part of a team essential to a safe and fun event, we need you! The schedule for these positions may run October 1 through October 31.
The Fair is held at:
4285 Trinity Road, Raleigh, NC 27607. If you are interested, you can make the magic happen by submitting your application. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Knowledge of the standard safety, surveillance and security practices and equipment.
Knowledge of the standard methods of reporting and handling emergencies such as disturbances, fires, medical and security threats.
Ability to use security equipment (e.g. radios, switchboards, flashlights, fire extinguishers, surveillance cameras, alarm panels, card access, or other electronic security systems).
Ability to patrol, monitor, and guard assigned areas.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, manage and direct traffic flow, climb stairs and work in inclement weather. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require the ability to complete emergency medical technician (EMT) training and meet re-certification standards as required.
