Responsibilities You will ensure employees, visitors, and contractors are properly cleared and possess proper security badges when accessing the base. You will protect property, materials, equipment, and information from danger of sabotage, espionage, intrusion, and criminal acts. You will detect and observe any unusual or abnormal conditions, assess the situation and relay that information to the quarterdeck by radio or telephone. You will relay messages and dispatch personnel and equipment to meet routine and emergency situations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Controlling personnel access by verifying identification. 2. Patrolling buildings and perimeters for suspicious activity. 3. Enforcing security measures required to protect personnel, materials, and property. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
