UNARMED GUARD ID REQUIRED SUMMARY OF POSITION

The security officer is primarily responsible for monitoring Freewill’s property to ensure the safety and security of the property, assets, staff, guests and clients. The security officer also provides a highly visible presence to deter or identify trespassers on campus. Overall, the security officer will attend to any problems or crisis in a timely and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain a working relationship with all residential staff to ensure the provision of a safe and nurturing environment for staff and youth. 2. Complete regular visual checks at each resident cottage on a rotating basis. 3. Security officers will assist staffin addressing behavior problems; however, FWB staff assumes primary responsibility for addressing behavior issues, issuing consequences and enforcing FWB rules. 4. Will be current in Handle w/ Care Training. Training will be provided. 5. Maintain safe environment by monitoring campus activities and ensuring all buildings are secure 6. Assist in the review of campus security system when requested 7. Respond to emergencies and assist in de-escalating situation; resfraints are to be used as the last resort. 8. Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and youth. 9. Maintain working knowledge of agency codes, drills. 10. Report daily incidents concerning youth, staff and/or campus safety issues – ex. sickness, accidents and/or behavior. 11. Protect the agency’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire, intruders and other safety issues 12. Be a goodwill ambassador for the agency and its residents 13. Assist the community by helping to prevent and/or report AWOLs 14. Fully comply with adminisfrative and program service policy and procedure

SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Participate in restraint meetings when requested. 2. Attend staff meetings and share safety concerns when requested.
