About the Position
This job opportunity is in the Bureau of Investigation. This is seasoned professional public safety support work. First-level supervisory work over professional and vocational public safety support work. Incumbents are responsible for training and managing lower-level dispatchers and communicators. At this level, incumbents exercise independent judgment and discretion in decision making and knowledge of procedures and protocol. May establish and/or implement policies for completion of the required tasks. Trains all lower-level staff on established procedures. Additional duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Entering new offender information into the registry database

Updating Records:
Regularly updating existing records with new information, such as changes in offender status, address updates, or court-ordered modifications.

Verification:
Confirming the accuracy of information provided by law enforcement agencies, courts, or other sources before updating or entering it into the registry.

Maintenance of Confidentiality:
Ensuring that all records are kept confidential and secure in compliance with privacy laws and regulations.

Training and Education:
Staying updated on relevant laws, regulations, and procedures related to sex offender registration and dissemination of information.

Collaboration:
Work closely with law enforcement agencies, courts, probation departments, and other stakeholders to gather and verify information and ensure the accuracy of records.
- Testify in Federal court proceedings related to sex offender lawsuits.

Customer Service:
Providing assistance and guidance to the public, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders who have inquiries or need assistance related to the sex offender registry.

Quality Control:
Ensuring that all data entered or updated in the registry meets quality standards and is free from errors or omissions.

Compliance:
Ensuring that all activities related to the sex offender registry comply with federal, state, and local laws, as well as any applicable policies and procedures.

Maintenance of Records:
Keeping detailed and accurate records of all activities, communications, and changes made to the registry to maintain a clear audit trail.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
Agency preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 10
- 15 years of experience or Equivalent work experience.
Demonstrate a history of good working relationship with criminal justice entities.
