PRIMARY FUNCTIONThe Aircraft Avionics SystemsTechnician analyzes malfunctions, inspects, removes, maintains, andinstalls integrated avionics systems. Performs and supervisesavionics maintenance and general aircraft servicing andhandling.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Analyzes equipment operating characteristics to isolatemalfunctions in avionics systems, integrated test systemsbuilt-in-test (BIT), multiplexed data bus systems, recordingsystems, video display systems, mission computer systems,electronic warfare (EW) systems, and sensors. Removes, installs, checks, and repairs avionics systems andline replaceable units (LRU). Diagnoses malfunctions using technical orders, schematics,wiring diagrams, integrated test systems and other testequipment. Conducts operational checks and repairs / replaces damagedcomponents and systems. Removes, replaces, and repairs faulty system wiring, electricalconnectors, antennas, transmission lines, and multiconductorcables. Modifies avionics systems according to technicalpublications. Inspects, troubleshoots, and maintains aircraft E & E systems,subsystems, components, and associated test equipment. Assists in T-38 aircraft jacking, lifting, mooring, and towingoperations. Updates operational logs, inspection records, aircraft forms,and automated maintenance systems. Performs and supervises alignment, calibration, and boresightof avionics systems. Uploads ground maintenance and operational software. Performs off-equipment maintenance on selected avionics LRUsand maintains peculiar support equipment (SE). Inspects and verifies operational status and configuration ofavionics systems and software. Interprets inspection findings and determines adequacy ofcorrective actions. Inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances,proper installation, and operation. Reviews maintenance forms, aircraft records, automatedmaintenance data systems, and historical reports to ensure completedocumentation. Recommends methods to improve equipment performance andmaintenance procedures. Uses automated maintenance systems. Inputs, validates, andanalyzes data processed to automated systems. Inspects, clears, and closes out completed maintenancediscrepancies in automated maintenance systems. Document maintenance as per Quality Assurance (QA) andestablished regulatory requirements. Stores, handles, and disposes of hazardous waste and materialsaccording to environmental standards and company processes. Inventories and maintains alternate mission equipment.
Inventories and maintains aircraft equipment. Use automated maintenance systems to monitor maintenancetrends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records,document maintenance actions, and time change database. Perform regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks. Maintain strict tool control procedures. Report missing, lost,found, or unattended tools to the supervisor. Inventory and inspecttools on a regular basis and replace worn or broken tools. Comply with safety rules and regulations while performing dayto day maintenance. Promptly report all accidents, injuries, safetyviolations, and/or unsafe practices or procedures tosupervisor. Maintain equipment records. Enter in the maintenance recordsdescription of the work performed and verify the work was performedsatisfactorily. The Aircraft Avionics Systems Technician will be required toperform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of theorganization.
SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES

Highly skilled in electrical, electronic, and mechanicalprinciples relating to Avionics systems. Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineeringdrawings, symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, andschematics, technical documentation, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals. Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability todraw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicateissues to management. Highly knowledgeable in interpreting and applying mechanical,wiring, and electronic circuit diagrams; electronic,micro-processor, data bus, and mechanical principles theory andapplication. Knowledge of T-38 theory of flight; gyros, synchro’s,indicators, memory storage devices, antennas, servomechanisms,electromechanical, optics, instruments, multiplexing, videodisplay, and digital computer systems working principles. Knowledgeable in Air Force Technical Order system, supplyprocedures, and deficiency reporting procedures. Intermediate computer skills specifically using MicrosoftOffice Suite. Ability to learn additional computer skills orsoftware programs. Working knowledge of advanced softwareapplications is preferred. Ability to enter data accurately into databases and writeroutine reports and correspondence. Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively andcooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will alsoroutinely interact with other crew members. Must possess effective oral and technical written communicationskills to clearly communicate information to others. Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone,copier, scanner, printers, etc. Ability to follow processes. Strong professional customer service skills, including activelistening, prompt service and follow-up. Ability to learn and understand corporate policies andprocedures and how they relate to Yulista goals. Background in TCTO application a plus. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. High degree of self-motivation and the ability to workindependently. Willingness to assist teammates in accomplishing task. Ability to multi-task.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent required. 6+ years of tactical Aircraft Avionics Systems experience withfixed / rotary wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft. Previous Air Force Specialty Code 2A5X3 Aircraft AvionicsSystems highly desirable. Multi aspect aviation qualifications / certifications /disciplines and ability to train these skills a must. Experience supporting DoD contracts. Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, andprocedures within depot level maintenance. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airplane and/orPowerplant certification a plus Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a GovernmentSecurity Clearance.
