SUMMARY:

The Aviation Accessory Technician III is responsible for performing maintenance on all fuel, oil, or air accessories by civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA. This role requires technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assemble all fuel controls, or all governors, or all fuel, oil, or air accessories if designated assembler.
Test limited fuel controls, or limited governors, or all fuel, oil, air accessories if designated test bench operator.
Operate test equipment as needed to ensure accessories pass function test.
Utilize hand tools and specialty tools for precision measurements daily.
Read and interpret technical data and drawings.
Generate data plates for components completed with use of a laser system.
Verify all accessories are tested to the appropriate specifications to ensure airworthiness.
Troubleshoot accessories failing test or set up to determine root cause of failure.
Work closely with quality assurance and engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
Document maintenance records of all repair work orders performed.
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

4 years of relevant/technical work experience.
OR an Associate’s degree in lieu of 2 years experience.
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, hand tools, and test equipment.
Diagnose and resolve technical failures.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
Very high Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, component maintenance manuals (CMMs), and engineering drawings.
Basic computer operating skills.
Flexible to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements.
Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Associate’s degree
AND 6+ years of technical work experience in aviation maintenance, MRO, or accessory repair.
