About The Position:

The Aircraft Component Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration tasks as assigned, following all applicable maintenance data. In addition to these duties, the Shop Technician is responsible for performing inspection tasks as directed, including incoming, preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspections. This position requires qualifications in accordance with 14 CFR 145.155 . As a Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) covered position, the Shop Technician participates in the Team JAS Drug and Alcohol Testing Program , which complies with 49 CFR Part 40 and 14 CFR Part 120 . Team JAS is a drug and alcohol-free workplace. The Repair Station ensures that all technicians performing these duties are: Fully familiar with the applicable regulations ( 14 CFR 145.155 ) Knowledgeable in inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools necessary to assess the airworthiness of articles undergoing maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations ( 14 CFR 145.155 ) Proficient in the use of appropriate inspection equipment and visual inspection aids ( 14 CFR 145.155 ) Able to read, write, and understand English as required ( 14 CFR 145.155)

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul services on aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, avionics, and electrical components. Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to identify defects and determine required repairs. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble components using appropriate tools, equipment, and technical documentation. Complete all maintenance tasks in accordance with the Repair Station Quality Manual and FAA regulations, ensuring accurate documentation of all work performed. Follow proper task sequences, request inspections promptly, and ensure compliance with maintenance data and customer requirements. Confirm all test equipment and tools used for airworthiness determinations are properly labeled and serviceable. Request required materials, parts, and stock to complete assigned work. Perform preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft components as specified in current maintenance data. Conduct incoming inspections to identify, control, segregate, and manage all parts and materials in accordance with manufacturer requirements and standard industry practices.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of tools and equipment used within the specific cell area. Proficiency in the use of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) for component inspections. 3+ years of hands-on experience working on components within the relevant cell(s). Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License preferred.
