RSi is looking to fill a Technical Inspector/Aircraft Mechanic III position at Fort Benning, GA, to support our Army customer. You will be part of a robust team working to maintain the aircraft used by the Army Ranger School. This role is full-time, first shift (0700 – 1530), on our UH60 Program. Technical Inspector/Aircraft Mechanic III ensures troubleshooting of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units is performed in accordance with publications. Duties include, but are not limited to: Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate problems by interpreting technical documentation such as Aircraft Technical Manuals, Maintenance Information and Action Messages and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives. Uses a working knowledge of technical publications and the Government STAMIS to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Reads and interprets manufacturers’ and Army maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Monitor operations to ensure that they meet publication standards. Recommend adjustments to the assembly or productions process. Inspect, test, or measure products with calipers, gauges, or micrometers. Operate electronic inspections equipment and software. Accept or reject completed tasks. Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications. Report inspection and test data such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected. Submit Maintenance Engineering Calls (MEC) and Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR). Review publications for changes. Review and update aircraft historical records. Comply with Safety Messages (ASAM, AMAM, SOF, and MIM) and update Air Worthiness Releases (AWR). Perform other qualified duties as assigned This position is subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as well as a pre-employment physical.
Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications:
Aircraft maintenance personnel and Technical Inspectors will have five (5) years quality control experience on the MDS H60 series. Must possess a valid A&P certificate. Aircraft Mechanic III will possess a minimum of two (2) years’ experience with documented training on the MDS H60 series systems. High School Graduate or GED.
Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/IT Skills/Certifications:
Knowledge of equipment related to individual requirements UH-60. Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams and schematics is mandatory. Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications is a plus.
Work Environment:
Aircraft areas/hangars, workshops, and other industrial settings. Physical Environment (outside, inside, heights, stairs etc.) /Requirements (lifting, heights, bending etc.): Will be required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable position. Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds. Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices Othe r : Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgment.
