C-12/King Air Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) – Jackson, MS. – R0140555

Job Description:

The C-12 /King Air Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P). Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-12/King Air 200/350/1900 aircraft. Union CBA Contract – Level of Aircraft Mechanic title and pay based on years of C-12/King Air specific hands-on A&P mechanic experience. (Details in Minimum Requirements, below).
A valid FAA A&P Certificate is Required.
Union CBA provides 3 levels of A&P experience based on years of experience on the assigned MDS aircraft C-12/ King Air.
US Citizenship is Required to obtain the US Govt Secret Security Clearance, and for facility and base access.
Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.
Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in

DA PAM 738-751.

Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.
Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software.
Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.
Perform engine run or taxi operations. Meet requirement to obtain certification within 12 months of employment.
Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Perform other duties as requested.

Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent is required.
A valid FAA A&P Certificate is Required.
Union CBA provides 3 levels of A&P experience based on years of experience on the assigned MDS aircraft C-12/ King Air.
AM-1 – Two (2) Years A&P mechanic experience is required, with two (2) or more years of C-12/ King Air hands-on mechanic experience preferred. AM-2 – Five (5) years of A&P mechanic experience with a minimum of Five (5) of hands-on C-12/ King Air A&P mechanic experience is required. AM-3 – Ten (10) years of A&P mechanic experience required, and Thirteen (13) years of C-12/King Air experience required.
A valid Drivers License is required. Mechanic Tools and Toolbox are Required – Mechanics must provide their own Tools and Toolbox. Tools to be etched with mechanic PID and Toolbox shadowed for each tool (Recruiter will provide information).

Contractual Mechanic Medical Requirements:

Medical/Physical. All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self-propelled support equipment within 10 feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed 5 years.

Security Clearance Requirements:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and authorization. US Citizenship is Required to hold a US Govt Secret Clearance, and facility credentials and authorization to work at this facility.

Additional and Physical Qualifications:

Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.
Comply with the FAA regulations as applicable.
Possesses a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and shows compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
