What you can expect as an Aircraft Appearance Specialist at

West Star:

The Aircraft Appearance Specialist will support the day-to-day operations for the professional appearance and stocking of inventory on aircraft that are brought to the company for service. This important position will follow the specifications of the contract to ensure all aircraft are ready for crew members and passengers. The Aircraft Appearance Specialist must maintain a high level of detail, exhibit strong oral and written communication skills, and be focused on delivering exemplary customer service. You will be

ESSENTIAL

to many FUNCTIONS, including: Clean and polish the exterior and interior of aircraft. Clean and polish wood, metal, hardware, and fabrics; condition leather as required. Sanitize galley and lavatory surfaces. Restock aircraft inventory as directed/required. Transport supplies to and from aircraft. Perform pre- and post-inventory counts of all supplies. Maintain inventory stockrooms as directed/required. Clean the interior in accordance with contract specifications. Mix paint and perform minor touch-ups of aircraft exterior paint. Organize and maintain company vehicles, shops, lockers, and equipment. Ensure proper usage of tools and personal protective equipment. Maintain a professional appearance according to company guidelines. Work independently and take initiative to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision and/or direction. Follow all established guidelines for quality and safety. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Conduct other duties as assigned but not specifically mentioned herein. Effectively and communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.

Requirements:

What you’ll need to bring with you:

Your Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Your Experience:

Prior experience in auto detailing or cleaning is preferred.

Your Initiative:

We’re looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.

Your Sense of Responsibility:

Attend work every day as scheduled. Notify your supervisor in advance of the shift start if unable to work. Must have reliable transportation to get to work every day. Must perform work in accordance with FAA guidelines. Maintain customer-oriented work habits and a positive customer service environment. Must provide quality detail work to customers. Follow all company safety rules during the performance of duties.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp with hands, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and/or maintain balance. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Must be able to work on elevated platforms (up to 40 ft in the air) using fall protection if needed. Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and scissor lift equipment. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Must pass a Pulmonary Function Test to obtain a respirator certificate as required.

Mental Requirements:

Work professionally with others. Understanding basic job functions and guidelines.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position working in a hangar environment. May be required to work indoors and outdoors year-round. Varied positions in, on, and around the aircraft, including working on ladders and work platforms.

Equipment Used:

Pneumatic buffers and sanders. Various rags, towels, and cleaning equipment. Floor cleaning machines.
