$37.6K – $48.7K a year 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off On-the-job training Vision insurance Qualifications Heavy lifting High school diploma or GED Driver’s License Plumbing Communication skills Mechanical knowledge Entry level Full Job Description The Backflow (Helper) Apprentice will work under the supervision of a certified backflow technician to learn and perform tasks related to the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of backflow prevention devices. This position involves both on-the-job training and formal instruction to develop the skills necessary to become a certified backflow technician.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the installation of backflow prevention devices in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Learn to perform testing procedures on backflow prevention devices to ensure they are functioning correctly. Help in maintaining and repairing backflow prevention devices as needed. Understand and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding backflow prevention. Keep accurate records of all installations, tests, and repairs performed. Learn to identify and troubleshoot issues with backflow prevention devices. Assist in maintaining tools, equipment, and workspaces in an orderly and functional condition. Participate in safety training and adhere to safety protocols. Attend and participate in educational programs and training sessions to gain knowledge and certifications in backflow prevention.

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent. Basic understanding of plumbing systems is preferred. Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced technicians. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments. Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
