JOB DESCRIPTION JOB CODE
To provide skilled work in the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electronic fire alarm systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Four (4) years’ experience in an electronics trade specializing in fire alarm systems. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Skilled in the use and knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and materials of the electronics trade. Skilled in the use and care of standard tools and equipment used in the electronics trade. Ability to work from sketches, plans, and blueprints. Ability to install, alter, upgrade, repair, maintain re-certifications, and locate defects in a variety of electronics equipment and systems. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions of the trade. Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. Ability to work under various conditions to complete necessary jobs.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Repair, install, and maintain electronic fire alarm systems and electronic equipment. Repair and install wiring of electronic fire alarm systems. Install electronic additions and alterations, as required. Maintain accurate records of daily work and time and payroll information. Follow safety standards in performing work and report unsafe conditions to Lead/Manager in a timely manner. May be required to work after hours and/or weekends. Travel outside of Manatee County as required in the performance of duties. Perform other duties as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee is exposed to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. Requires lifting, holding, carrying, sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. The noise level in the work environment can be high at times. Safety is the highest priority.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
