Fire Alarm Field Service Technician – Level II Planas Technologies, LLC Tucker, GA 30084 Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various systems, with a focus on fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and a thorough understanding of low voltage systems, as well as the ability to read blueprints and schematics. Your expertise will ensure that our clients receive top-notch service and that all installations comply with NFPA standards. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm systems and other low voltage systems at client locations. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate installation and compliance with design specifications. Utilize hand tools as needed. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on installed systems to ensure optimal performance. Detect issues within systems using diagnostic tools and provide effective solutions to clients. Collaborate with sales team to provide technical support during fire alarm sales processes. Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and installations for reporting purposes. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while on-site. Requirements Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar role within the fire alarm industry. Strong understanding of NFPA codes related to fire alarm systems. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Familiarity with fire alarm for system design is preferred. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. Strong time management skills. Capable of using Windows-based software as well as mobile iPad applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver’s license. High school diploma or equivalent, required. Two years’ experience servicing fire alarm and special hazard fire suppression systems, required. Experience reading blueprints, preferred. Module level troubleshooting experience, preferred. Associate degree in electronics or related field, preferred. NICET (Fire Alarm / Special Hazard) certification, preferred.
