Trainee, Sprinkler Design 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 2450 Satellite Blvd, Duluth, GA 30096 Div. 45, Atlanta Summary Entry level position learning how to work with blueprints, draw floor plan requirements for fire sprinkler systems, layout of fire sprinkler systems, field surveys, and part listings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Learn and demonstrate knowledge of fire sprinkler codes, building codes and city/county regulations. Learn to design automatic sprinkler systems including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems and perform hydraulic calculations for each design. Learn to prepare submittal packages to send to (AHJ) Authority Having Jurisdiction and subsequent correspondence to achieve design approval. Prepare fabrication lists for pipe fabrication vendor and requisition materials for job. Learn to perform field surveys to ensure design is appropriate for structure. Assist field personnel with design related installation issues. Learn to prepare and submit final job close-out documents after final acceptance testing Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 0-1 year of previous sprinkler design, mechanical aptitude or experience. Computer Skills Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, experience with or knowledge of SprinkCad, AutoCad, or HydroCAD. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms, and/or climb a ladder.
