Summary:
Low Voltage Technician will assist the fire alarm technician in installing, servicing, maintaining, repairing, testing and modifying low voltage category cabling and safety systems. Effectively troubleshoots and repairs faulty equipment or conditions. This is a position for a licensed electrician who is interested in transitioning to the fire and gas detection industry.
Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Install low voltage components in accordance with building codes and regulations. Ensure work is done in accordance with local building codes and standards. Work with technicians and contractors to install and terminate devices.
Education/Qualification:
A high school education or equivalent required. electrical journeyman license preferred. 1 year of electrical work experience.
Physical Requirements:
Maybe required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to walk and stand. Comfortable reaching, climbing (ladder/stairs) and bending. Must be able to verbally communicate via telephone. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
