Responsible for performing or coordinating through 3rd party contractor the camera installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and replacement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience and Training:
High School Diploma or GED Experience with electronics including CCTV, Access Control, and/or Fire Alarm Experience within university environment strongly preferred Must possess an unrestricted and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
Experience with MS Office Suite and programs to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, etc. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively teach and train on complex systems. Ability to multi-task. Strong desire and ability to learn. Read and follow blueprints. Basic understanding of low voltage and IT networking common practices.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform in a flexible work environment. Position will require frequent outside field work which may include walking, stooping, standing, climbing ladders, use of an aerial lift, and the ability to lift 50lbs. Ability to use hand tools and power tools, including drills, wire-strippers, network tester, meters, etc.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Position reports to Asst Director of Safety & Protection Technology. Position has no direct reports.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors overall camera system health, ensuring that campus CCTV cameras remain operational and troubleshoots cameras when offline. Performs camera installations, repairs, and maintenance and programming. Performs installation of mass notification speakers and integrates speakers with CCTV. Coordinates with 3rd Party Security Contractors on various security projects including large-scale repairs and installations. Supports Access Control, Fire Alarm, and Locksmith technicians with various projects when not performing camera maintenance. Other duties as assigned.
