Full Job Description Job Summary:
Kennedy Mechanical is currently looking to hire a Fire Sprinkler System Inspector/Service Technician. As a fire sprinkler system inspector/service tech you will be responsible for the completion of service requests at various locations throughout your given territory. You will be responsible for inspecting and testing fire sprinkler systems to ensure that they function effectively and meet NFPA standards. The sprinkler fitter will be responsible for installing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining fire protection systems and back flow prevention devices in commercial buildings from rough-in to final inspection.
Work schedule:
: Full-time Monday-Friday day shift After hours, as needed On Call, as needed
Job Duties/ Responsibilities:
Ability to trouble shoot minor electrical issues on sprinkler systems (compressors, flow switches, and tamper switches) Ensure safety guidelines are followed on every job – be knowledgeable of all OSHA guidelines Test Backflows & Fire Sprinkler Systems Interact with the customer to ensure the work performed will meet their expectations Understand and wear proper PPE as required Submitting completed and necessary paperwork daily Follow all established procedures and standards communicated by management Determine correct tools and equipment necessary to complete a job successfully Clean job site upon completion Run test and inspection on fire sprinkler systems Repair system if necessary or inform the Service Department of customer needs Advise customer of test and inspection results Perform an accurate diagnosis of inspection/repair required and offer solutions to the customer Ensure safety guidelines are followed on every job Respond to service calls Follow all established procedures and standards communicated by management. Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, tools and equipment Communicating with fire protection dispatcher on a daily basis You will be responsible to meet service calls in an efficient manner Identify emergencies and respond quickly to support and assist customers in need You will be responsible to answer and manage incoming calls with customers and office staff Accurately keeping thorough documentation of service calls
Skills and Position Requirements:
: Excellent Customer service skills Valid driver’s license NICET Certification and/or backflow certification a plus Written and oral communication skills Strong attention to detail Willingness to learn and adapt to change Trade school or apprenticeship preferred Proficient in the use of pipe threaders, groovers, hand and power tools OSHA 10 certification preferred Trade school or apprenticeship preferred
Physical Demands:
Tasks include Lifting, Digging, Climbing Ladders, and Entering Small or Confined Spaces Ability to Lift, Pull, Carry, Push up to 50 lbs. Ability to complete repetitive tasks which may include overhead or awkward positioning
