What youwill do:
Receive service calls from Service Resource Center,including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctionsContact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systemsproblems Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs onelectronic fire alarm systems and other related building systemproducts at customer sites Follow prescribed troubleshootingprocedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, changenotices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. to repairequipment Service, troubleshoot and install many differentmanufacturers’ Fire & Life Safety systems including SimplexGrinnellRead and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specificationssoftware/systems, programs, schematics and operational productmanuals Exhibit excellent customer service skills by consistentlycommunicating with the district staff and customers to ensurecustomer satisfaction Complete Service Acknowledgements with propercoding through communication devices, such as smart phones andlaptop computers Obtain customer signature upon completed servicecall assignment Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation Help totrain or mentor others on the service team Provide our customerswith the highest level of service to solve building inefficienciesand resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to ourcustomers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time ofservice Perform other duties as assigned How you will do it Thisskilled position involves troubling shooting and repairinginstalled systems. Including panel repair/reprogram, devicereplacement/repair, resolving low voltage circuit troubles andsystem testing. Organize and effectively utilize technicalresources, information, material, and support to assure efficientexecution of all assigned tasks. Candidate must possess excellentwritten/verbal communication and outstanding customer serviceskills. Position involves the programming of fire alarm, security,and access control system panels. Experience CCTV and IT and IPnetworks a plus. Complete and submit all required task-related,activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
On call and after hours work required on occasion at customer need.
Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is runningefficiently to include upselling opportunities. Provide quotes tosupport recommendations and solutions.
What we look for:
Required 2years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems,including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, andPaging systems. Rhode Island Electrician License Experience inreading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, andoperational/product manuals. Knowledge of test equipment,multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices. HighSchool Diploma or equivalent Ability to follow verbal and writteninstructions. Capable of performing physical labor to includecarrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs. Able towork in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbingladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, workingwithin ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc Ability to workflexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
Overnight travel may be required. Demonstrate a high level ofcustomer service. Maintain truck inventory to ensure timelyresponse to customer needs. Ability to adhere to, implement, andfollow safety guidelines and procedures at all times. Strongorganizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learnquickly. Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record thatmeets company requirements. Preferred Massachusetts ElectricianLicense
