Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Commercial Low Voltage Installation Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of low voltage electrical systems in commercial environments, including security, audiovisual, telecommunications, and related systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage systems such as security, audio/video, and telecommunications equipment. Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Program and configure various low voltage devices and systems. Diagnose and resolve wiring and connectivity issues efficiently. Ensure all work complies with local and national electrical codes and safety standards. Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including materials and time tracking. Deliver excellent customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial low voltage or electrical system installation and maintenance. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and blueprints. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Cat5/Cat6 cabling, access control systems, CCTV, wireless access points, and audiovisual installations. Familiarity with punchdown tools and structured cabling practices.
