Full Job Description Summary:
Technician is responsible for installation and servicing of fire alarm systems; all according to industry standards.
Job Duties may include:
Installation, service and troubleshooting of alarm related systems. Working in commercial locations. Working in the field by phone or mobile app with a team or person remotely to ensure system is working properly or to trouble shoot. Working professionally and cohesively with others. Providing customer education on how to use the systems. Evaluating locations for proper placement of equipment for proper coverage. Determining the most efficient way to run wire from head-end to endpoint. Proper use of industry related tools (power and hand). Safe work practices. Use of electronics (tablets, pads, mobile apps, computers, smartphones) and writing to properly fill out paperwork and forms as assigned by the company. Ability to control and maintain proper inventory. Attend, complete and pass any Continuing Education required by the company. Driving company vehicle. Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demand:
Able to sit/stand/kneel for long periods of time during working hours. Able to walk, twist, stoop, balance, crouch or crawl; use hands to pull, push, reach, handle and feel. Able to left/carry up to 50lbs. Able to climb up and down ladders. Able to work from heights on a scissor lift, boom truck, roof, etc. Able to work in confined spaces like attics, crawl spaces, etc. Able to work indoor/outdoor with a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. Able to read, write, speak, hear, see, think, communicate, learn and work. Able to drive for an extended part of the working hours. Able to use electronics like tablets, pads, computers, smartphones, etc.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Able to multi-task. Able to communicate effectively with co-workers, managers and customers. Able to follow directions and retain new information. Able to follow a schedule and have reliable attendance. Able to manage time efficiently. Able to problem solve. Able to learn and grow with our company. Flexible to change with a good attitude and commitment to make it work. Working knowledge of hardwired and wireless alarm and security related systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Alarm Industry Experience of two years or more with Fire Systems. High School Diploma or Equivalent Must be able to read, write and speak English. Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass criminal background check. Ability to pass a drug/alcohol test prior to employment or at any time during working hours. Ambitious, honest and reliable.
Able to occasionally:
work weekends, after 5pm and/or travel as work requires.
Preferred Qualifications:
NICET Level I or higher Knowledge of diverse Fire Systems. Knowledge of system programming. Knowledge of code compliance requirements.
