Job Description

Body Shop Estimator 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 1841 North State Road 7, Hollywood, FL 33021 Seeking Experienced Estimators! The Body Shop Estimator accurately assesses vehicle damage and provides repair estimates.

Job Requirements:

Must have 5 years of experience. Expertise with insurance companies. Automotive industry experience is a plus. Proficiency in estimating systems and line itemization Organized, manages workload and time well. Works well in a team environment. Ability to problem solve, maintaining customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

Conducts thorough inspections of vehicles to identify all damage, including structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage. Calculates repair costs based on labor, parts, and materials required for each job. Communicate effectively with customers to explain any repair procedures, timelines, or cost estimates. Address customer inquiries and concerns regarding the repair process and insurance coverage. Collaborates with insurance representatives to obtain approval for repair estimates and ensure compliance with insurance guidelines. Prepares insurance documents to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations. Facilitates the processing of insurance claims and documents, adhering to industry standards and regulations. Monitors the progress of repairs and update customers on any delays or changes to the timeline. Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations. Ensures adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout the repair process. Determines salvage value on total vehicle losses. Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman. Estimates cost of repainting, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles. Facilitate the processing of insurance claims and paperwork, adhering to industry standards and regulations. May perform other duties as requested.

Required Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience. Need to earn the certification relevant to Manufacturer on a yearly basis. I-CAR Certification required. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification required. Knowledge of vehicle preventive maintenance. Knowledge of internet software and order processing system. Must have a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record which shall be reviewed by Human Resources as needed. Previous customer service experience preferred. Automotive repair experience. Dealership experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Organizes work effectively, prioritizes objectives, and exercises independent judgement. Must be friendly and maintain a positive and professional attitude. Ability to multitask and deal with a fast evolving environment. Ability to work under stress. Fast learner due to constant technology evolution. Intermediate language capabilities such as the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic math capabilities such as the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Intermediate reasoning capabilities such as the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
