Overview The Raptor Technician is a critical role that bridges the body shop and powder coating departments to ensure the precise application of Raptor Liner. This position requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes on vehicle components. Job Level Technician Reports To Paint and Body Manager Duties and Responsibilities Tape off painted areas of vehicles to protect them during the Raptor Liner application process. Sand vehicle tubs to prepare surfaces for coating. Thoroughly clean surfaces using wax and grease remover to ensure proper adhesion. Apply seam sealer to any necessary seams. Mix and spray Raptor Liner with precision and accuracy. Proactively seek additional tasks to stay productive when assigned work is completed. Arrive on time with a professional appearance, ready to work at start of shift. Adhere to the company dress code and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Complete daily SOS/sign off sheet. Required Skills and Abilities General automotive knowledge and familiarity with vehicle components. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Competence in using air hoses, power tools, and related equipment. Strong time management skills to meet production deadlines. Dependability and a commitment to producing high-quality products. Reliable transportation to and from work. Ability to work overtime evenings and weekends as needed. Education Background and Experience High School diploma or equivalent Previous liner spray or paint and body experience preferred Physical Demands (To include but not limited to) Prolonged periods of standing or walking around the workspace. Frequently lifting heavy objects, such as tools, parts, or equipment, often weighing up to 50-75 pounds. Regularly bending, stooping, or crouching to work on vehicles at different heights. Moving large or heavy equipment, carts, or vehicles within the shop. Precise manipulation of tools, small parts, and diagnostic equipment. Continuous use of hands, arms, and fingers for tasks like tightening bolts, sanding, or painting. Exposure to loud noises from power tools and machinery. Using equipment like impact wrenches or sanders that produce significant vibration. Working in non-climate-controlled environments, leading to exposure to heat or cold. Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals like solvents, oils, and paints. Proper PPE is often required. Ensuring accuracy in measurements, assembly, and inspections. Analyzing and troubleshooting mechanical or structural issues. Frequent reaching above the shoulders or below the waist. Maintaining physical activity throughout the day without fatigue. Adherence to safety protocols to avoid injuries from sharp tools, heavy objects, or moving vehicles. Safely operate a motor vehicle.
