Job Description:
- We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team.
In this role, you will perform a variety of high-level activities related to truck bodies and trailers.
Your responsibilities will include:

Truck Body and Trailer Work:
Knowledge of truck body and van electrical and hydraulic issues. Disassemble and reassemble all sections of the truck body, body mounts, and upfitting. Diagnose and repair as needed. +
Non-Standard Upfit Jobs:
Complete non-standard upfit jobs and service repair work that may require problem-solving, fabrication, electrical/hydraulic troubleshooting, and creative solutions while continually developing skillsets for continued growth. +
Chassis Prep and Body Mount:
Perform minor modifications, body mounts, repairs, 12v electrical work, liftgate installation, and quality inspection activities while adhering to all Wabash quality and EHS standards. +
WPO Guidelines:
Follow all Wabash National’s WPO guidelines and attain all certifications necessary for the job role. +
Team Environment:
Work collaboratively in a team environment. +
Work Order Verification:
Read the work order completely, check the VIN on the vehicle to ensure you have the correct components and vehicle for the assigned job. +
Mobile Repair Work:
Perform mobile repair work at customer locations. +
Liftgate Installation:
Capable of installing liftgates of all makes and models. +
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Skills Required:
+ Minimum 1 year of experience with assembly of any kind (mechanical or electrical). + Previous experience with hand and power tools. + Ability to follow instructions and understand basic blueprints. + Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per shift. + Understanding of safety within manufacturing. + Mechanical aptitude and a good attitude to learn/cross-train. + Ability to lift 30-50 lbs.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $18.00
- $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
