As an experienced Body Shop Technician withPenske, you’ll use industry-leading technology and repairtechniques – plus cutting-edge diagnostic equipment – to get ourcustomers’ state-of-the-art vehicles back up and running inhigh-quality condition. Major Responsibilities:
  • Perform all levels of Truck Collision Repair and maintenanceservices.

Duties may include the overhaul, adjustment, replacementand repair of all series of motor truck and trailer equipmentincluding, but not limited to the following: Cab/ Sheet MetalRepair, Fiberglass Repair, Composite Bonding/ Repair, Welding/Fabricating, Frame Straightening/ Alignment, Suspension Repair/Alignment, Box Repair/ Replacement, Air Conditioning Systems,Electrical/ Brake/Cooling Systems, Surface Preparation, and Paint/Mixing/ Tinting/ Blending.

  • Identify and determine parts requiredfor repair of disassembled truck and trailer units
  • Identifywarrantable repairs and document on repair order
  • Maintain workarea appearance and safety
  • Road test vehicles when necessary
  • Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely andefficient manner
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned bysupervisor
Qualifications:
  • 6 years practical experience (or anequivalent combination of related education and experience)
  • HighSchool Diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational/technical schoolpreferred
  • Specialized training and experience in therepair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer required
  • Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including weldingequipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools)required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Basic computer skillsrequired
  • The associate will be required to understand and complywith specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, orother information established by Penske management
  • The associatemust be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and allPenske safety and maintenance policies; including but not limitedto the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machineguarding, and established best safety practice.
  • Regular,predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, itis regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualificationfile to be maintained as required by the role.
The driverqualification file includes:

an annual motor vehicle records (MVR)check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and SafetyPerformance History records request from prior employers in thelast 3 years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT DrugScreening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSAClearinghouse review.

  • Willingness to travel as necessary, workthe required schedule, work at the specific location required,complete Penske employment application, submit to a backgroundinvestigation (to include past employment, education, and criminalhistory) and drug screening are required.

This position isregulated by the Department of Transportation or designated assafety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in aconstant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associatewill be required to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, andsit for extended length of time throughout their scheduled workingperiod.
  • The associate is required to use their hands on a routineand daily basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/orotherwise operate required tools or controls.
  • The associate mustbe able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders andelevated working platforms.
  • The associate must be able to safelywork in all weather conditions.
  • Given the frequent movement oflarge trucks through the workplace, the associate must be able tosee and hear in order to safely navigate the work environment.
  • The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
