This Apprenticeship is ideal for applicants with a keen interest in construction, have good hand skills with an eye for quality, and a desire to learn. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in the trade. Key Responsibilities – Apprentice Painter & Decorator
- Assist in preparing surfaces for painting and decorating, including sanding, filling, and priming
- Support the application of paints, varnishes, and wallpapers to a range of surfaces
- Help maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Work under the guidance of experienced painters and decorators to learn industry standards and techniques
- Mix and match paints and other materials to achieve required finishes
- Use and care for tools and equipment correctly and report any damage or issues
- Follow project specifications and instructions from supervisors or site managers
- Attend and participate in training sessions as part of the apprenticeship programme
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance on-site and when representing the company What We’re Looking For…
Essential:
- Genuine interest in painting and decorating and a long-term commitment to a career in the construction industry.
- Willingness and ability to attend college and complete all apprenticeship requirements.
- Practical mindset with good problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working at height.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Desirable:
- 2 GCSEs (grade 4/C or above or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Previous experience of hands-on work, e.g. labouring, DIY, or school-based construction projects.
- Awareness of basic health and safety principles.
- Access to transport or willingness to travel to various construction sites and training locations.
- A full UK driving licence or willingness to work toward obtaining one. What We Offer…

Training and Development:
Apprentice Painting and Decorating – Level 2 in Painting and Decorating – 2 year course The successful candidate will be enrolled on a recognised apprenticeship relevant for painting and decorating. Training will include practical, on-site experience and day-release attendance at a college or training provider. Ongoing supervision and mentorship will be provided by experienced tradespeople. Please note, should painting and decorating not be available on a given day, you may be required to support other trades as part of your work.
