Job Description
Job briefWe are looking for a skilled
- Mechanic
- to maintain and repair motorcoaches and components.
You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of engines, drive train, electrical and mechanical systems. An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.
Must be dependable and have at least 3 years experience working on diesel engines and your own tools. Certified in AC systems and air brakes preferred. General knowledge and diagnostic skills to troubleshoot electrical issues. Serious inquires only. Monday
- Friday 7:30am
- 4:30pm and rotating weekend shifts.
Mechanic responsibilities include
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure vehicles meet DOT requirements
- Inspecting engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues“`{=html}“
- Repair and maintain mechanical components according to requirements
- Repair vehicle systems to include engine powertrain, HVAC, electrical, fuel delivery
- Cummins engine and computer knowledge is a plus“`{=html}“
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems
- Replenish fluids, change fluids and filters
- Undertake other duties as assigned to include tire and wheel repair/replacement
- The ability to use good judgement and decision makingRequirements and skills
- Proven experience as Mechanic
- Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and other systems and their componentsAbility to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, schematics, etc.
A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelinesVery good communication and problem-solving skillsMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 poundsA valid applicable state license, CDL is preferredHigh school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus
