Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments on fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches Change filters and oil, lubricate vehicles Tune gas and diesel engines as needed Replace spark plugs, PCV valves, fuel filters, air filters, etc Diagnose and troubleshoot engine, drivetrain, braking, exhaust, and cooling systems. Repair systems Diagnose and troubleshoot typical high mileage vehicle issues Maintain work space, tools, and equipment Quote prices, parts needed, and time to fix for vehicle repairs Other duties as assigned Specific knowledge, skills and abilities: High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 5 years’ experience with repair and maintenance of motorized vehicles. Valid driver’s license as required by state Must possess own set of all tools required Must be proficient with an OBD meter, testing, and repairing issues Prior hands-on experience in a high-volume, fast-paced service-oriented environment Ability to communicate through written and verbal means in order to give clear descriptions of vehicle issues Ability to repair systems rather than removing and replacing systems Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance is required Must work well with and respect others Familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with safety guidelines and best practices required Standing, walking, heavy lifting repetitive movements and use of mechanical controls are frequently required.
