$20 to $24 depending on experience.
Job Description:
Panther & Co. is seeking a skilled and experienced 53′ Reefer Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing and repairing refrigeration units on semi-trailers, as well as performing general trailer repairs to ensure DOT compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain refrigeration units (Thermo King, Carrier, etc.) on 53′ reefer trailersPerform routine inspections and preventative maintenanceTroubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systemsWheel seal replacementBreaks both drums and discEnsure trailers meet DOT safety standardsMaintain accurate service records and reportsWork independently or as part of a team to complete tasks in a timely mannerRespond to emergency service calls as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; technical training preferredMinimum 2 years’ experience as a reefer or trailer mechanicKnowledge of Thermo King, Carrier, or similar refrigeration systemsUnderstanding of trailer suspension, braking, and lighting systemsValid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)Own set of toolsAbility to work in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
