Automotive Service Writer Coachworks of Saratoga LLC Saratoga Spgs, NY 12866 Overview The Service Writer plays a crucial role in the automotive service industry, acting as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department. This position requires strong communication skills and a solid understanding of automotive repair processes to effectively translate customer needs into actionable service orders. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, customer-focused, and possess a passion for automotive service. Duties Greet customers and assess their service needs, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish. Document customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately to facilitate effective communication with technicians. Prepare detailed service orders that align with customer requests and necessary repairs, including oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, and more. Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services while maintaining high-quality standards. Provide customers with clear explanations of services performed and any additional recommended maintenance or repairs. Manage service appointments and follow up with customers regarding their vehicle status. Maintain an organized workspace and keep accurate records of all transactions and services provided. Skills Proficiency in automotive repair terminology and processes, including air brake systems, automotive diagnostics, tire service, and brake repair. Experience in service writing or auto service management is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers and team members. Ability to align customer needs with appropriate services while transmitting information clearly to technicians. Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A passion for the automotive industry and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
