- Paid Vacation The Automotive Service Advisor will initiate automotive services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and service requests; verify warranty and service contract coverage; develop estimates; write repair orders; maintain customer rapport and records.
Job duties will include, but are not limited the following: Advise customers about necessary service for routine maintenance. Help identify a mechanical problem by questioning the customer or doing a visual inspection or road test. Conduct automobile inspections, check vehicle maintenance records, and examine service schedules. Confer with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures; prepare work order for needed repairs showing time, cost, and labor estimates for service. Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtain customer approval of estimates. Explain work performed and charges to the customer. Handle customer complaints. Verify warranty and service contract coverage. Maintain automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers’ publications. Skills and Qualifications To be successful, the person that fills this role will possess the following skills and/or qualifications: Ability to troubleshoot, understand potential cause of problem Good communication and active listening skills Working knowledge of mechanical tools and machines Computer literate, knowledge of CDK is a plus!
