Description
The MLT (Machinery Lubrication Technician) position is responsible for equipment lubrication, contamination control, inspection, and proactive maintenance activities for all lubricated mechanical systems. The scope of this position is to increase the productivity and efficiency of the process by identifying and reducing reliability issues and improving PMs and life plans through proper lubrication, contamination control and inspections.
Duties and Responsibilities
A description of the general activities may include:
Use of tools and equipment for routine and non-routine lubrication functions.
Draining and cleaning of reservoirs.
Mechanical modification of systems as directed to facilitate sampling and filtration, and other proactive improvements.
Filling reservoirs.
Topping off reservoirs.
Changing filters and breathers on reservoirs.
Operating filtration equipment.
Grease relubrication with manual and automatic dispensing equipment.
Maintenance of dispensing equipment and automatic systems.
Labeling and tagging reservoirs, equipment, inventory, and delivery containers.
ing and fulfilling planned lubrication activities.
Update scheduling systems, including adding notes to system and requesting work orders for maintenance repairs and activities.
Schedule, collect, label and mail samples for analysis.
in writing any discrepancies or conditions that require corrective, predictive or planned maintenance for production systems.
Stocking inventory locations.
Will be included in the Maintenance on call schedule rotation.
Minimum Qualifications you will need:
Eligible to legally work in the United States
High School diploma or equivalent education
Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule which will include weekends and holidays
Ability to work as part of a team and deliver value to the team
Specialized kledge or skills needed for promotion into certain roles:
Ability to maintain all equipment in assigned area
Ability to enhance or improve processes and procedures
Working at heights up to 130 feet above the ground
Specialized kledge or skills needed:
Experience in relevant areas of CMMS
Kledge of Mill processes and equipment.
Good oral and writtenmunication skills and good team building skills.
Capability to work in an unsupervised position effectively.
Capability to read and interpret technical documents, such as: OEM Maintenance plans, Blues, and Advanced Lubrication Technology instruction and rmendations.
Capability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) for the purpose of interpreting alarms, calculating lubricant inventory, and calculating relubrication quantity considerations.
Understanding of fundamental lubrication concepts and application of these concepts (such as Viscosity, NLGI #’s, V.I., AW, EP, R&O, ISO Cleanliness Codes, Beta Filter Rating, etc.).
ICML – MLT
Level 1 Certification (within 1 year of placement).
Have a strong fundamental understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and circulating systems operation, contamination control and maintenance functions.
Should be qualified to operate lifting equipment (Fork Truck, Hoist, Etc.)
Should be qualified to perform lockout-tag out procedures.
Demonstrated initiative and strong work habits.
Proven ability toanize, plan and establish a routine of activities to ensure principal accountabilities are met.
Proactive, questioning, ‘get-it-done’ attitude
Basic understanding of maintenance activities and equipment.
