  • ask your Recruiter for details Job DescriptionThe Fleet Mechanic 2 is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Company fleet equipment to include, class 1-8 diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, and forklifts by performing the essential job duties.

What your day will look like:

Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on all types of fleet equipmentTroubleshoots mechanical and electronic malfunctions, perform all types of repairs, rebuild/replace major equipment componentsPerform emergency roadside services as neededResearch and order parts, accurately record usage, and asset in managing stock inventoryComplete electronic work orders, ensure all information is recorded in computerized maintenance systemAssist team members with troubleshooting & repairs, researching parts, and inspecting equipmentMaintain a clean and safe working environment, following all Good Manufacturing PracticesPerforms appropriate duties as assigned by managementWhat you need to succeed:

Minimum age of 18 years old Class A CDL preferredPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policiesRegular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the jobAbility to read, write and speak EnglishAbility to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelinesAbility to maintain safety and security of Company assetsAbility to utilize all Company provided resources and technologyValid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policyHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAdvance knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on light duty, heavy duty and material handling equipmentAbility to operate hand tools and others such as bench grinders, torch, drill press, jacks and jack stands, Sawzall, etc. as required to perform workAbility to utilize all Company provided resources and technologyWillingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as requiredAbility to prioritize and plan work activities to ensure efficient use of timeAbility to work in a positive and productive team environmentAbility to show initiative, problem solving, technical skills, and demonstrate teamworkPhysical RequirementsPosition will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Position is required to wear safety toed shoes when performing the following tasks: Operating Powered Industrial Equipment or Working in an Area where Powered Industrial Equipment is in use, Fleet Maintenance, Working with Palletized Product, Use of Hand Trucks/Dollies to Deliver Product, Cooler Services, etc.(X) None = 0% (0 hrs)(L) Limited = 1% (1 hr)(O) Occasionally = 2
