If you have at least one year of experience working on trailers and brakes, possess a valid and current driver’s license, and own your own tools, this job could be a good fit for you. As a Trailer Mechanic, your typical day would include:
- Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing all equipment as indicated on repair orders and consistent with the company’s repair standards.
- Performing safety and legally required inspections (FHWA/BIT).
- Maintaining parts and yard organization (with direction from operations management) to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working specifically on trailers
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working on brakes
- Must be qualified to complete FHWA inspections
- Must have a valid and current driver’s license As a Trailer Mechanic, you’ll need one year of trailer repair experience to complete FHWA inspections consistent with the Department of Transportation requirements.
