Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Auto Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, repair, and maintenance across a variety of vehicle makes and models. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive diagnostics using specialized tools and equipment to identify the root cause of vehicle malfunctions. Execute a wide range of automotive repairs, including but not limited to: Brake systems (disc and drum) Steering and suspension components Engine performance issues (tune-ups, sensor replacement, etc.) Electrical systems (diagnostics and repair of wiring, lights, accessories) HVAC systems (diagnosis and repair) Basic transmission and drivetrain maintenance/repair Exhaust systems Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and filter replacements. Accurately document all repairs, services performed, and parts used on work orders and digital systems. Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding repair recommendations, estimated timelines, and potential additional services needed. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Continuously learn and stay updated on new automotive technologies and repair techniques. Assist entry-level technicians with complex diagnostics and repairs as needed. Conduct pre-purchase inspections and provide detailed reports.

Qualifications:

3-5 years of proven experience as an Auto Repair Technician in a professional shop environment. State of Maine Inspection License Strong diagnostic skills with proficiency in using scan tools, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment. Solid understanding of vehicle electrical systems and ability to read wiring diagrams. Proficient in performing a wide range of mechanical repairs on various makes and models. Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with automotive repair. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Own a basic set of automotive tools.
