Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in prepping, priming, and painting vehicles with precision and care. You will be responsible for restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition or enhancing their appearance through custom paint jobs, all while ensuring a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare vehicles for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primer. Mix and match paint to achieve the desired color and finish. Apply paint using spray guns and other painting equipment in a controlled environment. Inspect painted surfaces for quality and touch up as necessary. Maintain painting equipment and ensure a clean and safe work area. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and handling of hazardous materials. Collaborate with body technicians and other team members to meet production deadlines. Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive painting is a plus. Proven experience as an automotive painter or in a similar role. Familiarity with modern painting techniques, tools, and paint matching systems. Ability to work independently with attention to detail. Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to painting and refinishing. Physical stamina and dexterity; ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
I-CAR or ASE certifications. Experience with waterborne paint systems. Knowledge of custom paint and detailing techniques.
