Job Description

Service and Lube Technician Kemp Sigmon Construction Co., Inc. Claremont, NC 28610 Kemp Sigmon Construction Company (KSCCo), a growing Heavy Civil Construction Company has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Service & Lube Technician to join our rapidly growing company for Second (2nd) shift, 2:00 pm

  • 10:00 pm.

This position performs preventative maintenance and lubrication services on specialized equipment used in heavy civil construction. This person will also conduct inspections, document work performed, and travel to job sites. The Service & Lube Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that heavy machinery remains in good working order through routine maintenance and lubrication services. This position works in accordance with policies, procedures, and the philosophy of Kemp Sigmon Construction Company.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to various destinations Must be able to work second shift hours from 2:00 pm

  • 10:00 pm Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, fluid refills, and lubricate fittings, as per manufacturer recommendations Inspect equipment
  • check for signs of wear, leaks, or other potential issues Maintain records by keeping detailed logs of services performed and report any concern to mechanics Operate a service truck
  • travel to job sites Adhere to safety regulations and environmental guidelines for handling fluids and materials Must be able to perform all tasks assigned on a daily basis Attend meetings as needed Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, etc.

) Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while on the construction site to promote a safe working environment Perform other duties as assigned and reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above

Must exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external contacts to include active listening, developing rapport and team building Ability to be multi-faceted in business environment to assist where needed with exceptional time management and organizational skills Demonstrate strong work ethic with a commitment to professional behavior and interactions Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications Must be able to pass a criminal background check, MVR, and pre-employment drug screening

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position will vary from in and outside of a truck, shop, and multiple job sites Must be able to: Maneuver within the work environment and sit or stand for prolonged periods of time with walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Apply physical mobility, including reaching, lifting, holding, pushing and pulling, carrying, bending, climbing stairs, kneeling, arm and leg extension Frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area Must be able to use hands, fingers, hands and feet, talk and hear and smell Able to see clearly, identify and distinguish colors, see peripherally, have depth perception and are able to adjust focus Must be able to wear/utilize applicable safety equipment or practices to work in environments as needed Occasionally lift up to 80 pounds Loud noise
