Location & commitmentsFull-time based atour Greenville (other) location in the Quadrangle Endoscopy Center,Monday-Friday, 7:30a.m. 4:30 p.m.

Overtime may be required to ensurepatients are taken care of, tasks are completed, and calls arereturned in a timely manner.

Supervision Received:

Reports toCharge Nurse, Clinical Supervisor, Operations Manager; Director ofOperations.

Supervision Exercised:

None.

Typical Physical Demands:

Requires full range of body motion, including handling and liftingpatients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

Frequent standing and walking or other means of mobility forextended periods of time. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50lbs. Requires normal visual acuity. Requires exposure to bodilyfluids.

Typical Working Conditions:

Frequent exposure tocommunicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation,medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to clinicenvironment.

About the role:

Responsible for maintaining andmanagement of the endoscopy equipment and the general cleanlinessof the entire until. Assists with patient care. Provides limitedpre and post-procedure patient care/clinical tasks under thesupervision of an RN or LPN. Occasionally performing clericalfunctions as requested.

Responsibilities:

(may include, but are notlimited to) Assist with preparing patients in pre-op and collecting dataand vital signs prior to and after the procedure. Escort patients according to policy when discharged. Assist with patient services as directed by a nurse. Assist with cleaning and preparing stretchers and rooms betweenprocedures by cleaning beds, tables, counters, carts, etc. Clean and disinfect endoscopes and accessories according toprotocol. Prepare accessory equipment for sterilization and performsterilization. Document the disinfection process of all equipment inlogbook. Complete and document infection control and quality controlmeasures in the logbook as required. Assist with restocking of equipment and supplies in allprocedure rooms. Assist with the quality improvement activities related toequipment and environment. Prepare laundry and hazardous waste for pick up by vendor. Perform messenger and transport duties as requested. Perform clerical duties as needed. Assist with patient services as directed. Refer situations beyond ability or function to the appropriateperson. Attend staff meetings and participate in in-service programs tomaintain or improve knowledge and skills. Demonstrate ability to adapt to changes in daily schedule. Maintain confidentiality and privacy of the patient. Other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor,Operations Manager. Candidate requirements High school graduate. Certified Medical Assistant required. (Previous experience as aCMA preferred) Current BLS certification. Be confident in clinical decision-making and autonomous inproviding care to patients in a fast-paced clinical practicesetting. Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written andverbal, and be proactive in discussing case management. Possess excellent time management and have ability to work wellwith patients and their families, collaborating/supervisingphysicians, facility staff and leadership. Display a professional demeanor and recognition of privacyconsiderations for patients and families, maintaining strictconfidentiality in all times. Demonstrate a strong sense of team commitment, which includesmeeting deadlines, punctuality and excellent follow-through andfeedback.
