Position Summary
Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Mobile Diesel/Trailer Technician in Barrington/ Camden NJ!
Seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel/Trailer Technician to service a variety of equipment including Yard Goats, Jockeys, Switchers, and dry van trailers. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Cummins engines, DOT inspection procedures, and structural trailer repair—including crossmembers, doors, floors, and roofs. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing yard switchers, performing brake and air system repairs (including ABS), conducting basic electrical diagnostics, and creating accurate repair orders. Must be able to work independently and possess strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
Compensation:
Competitive Hourly Pay – Paid weekly, every Friday!
DAY SHIFT
Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
$28.00 – $32.00 hour DOE
$100 Bonus plus cost for ASE Certs
$15,000 (up to) annually Bonus based on SRT $1,000 Referral fee for every Technician referral works 90 days

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
What the Trailer Technician role looks like:
Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Perform other duties as required
Key Competencies and Minimum Education
What our ideal candidate looks like:
Must have at least 2 years’ experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
Must be able to enter and exit the driver’s compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
Must provide own hand tools
Perform DOT inspections
Basic computer skills
Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
