Essential Job Summary:

: The Fleet Technology Technicianwill provide the first line of support of all onboard trucktechnology and related hardware. Assist with all problems viaphone, email, remote support, site visits, or along the driver’sroute. They are responsible for the safe and productive operationof the fleet assets through the efficient performance of thedepartment’s daily activities.

Install the Routeware tablet, and interface allcomponents with the systems on the vehicles, including the in-cabvideo cameras, Samsara Cameras, and radios. Maintain a high degreeof customer service for all support inquiries and adhere to allservice management principles Take ownership of user problems andbe proactive when dealing with user issues Skill to disassemblevehicle interiors without damaging the vehicle or the interiorcomponents or where to locate information if disassembly procedureis unknown or not evident Identify component failures quickly, andreplace as necessary Properly choosing and running wires, cables,and harness assemblies throughout the vehicle (including into theengine compartment, trunk/hatch and doors) with a competency toexecute safe and serviceable methods in observing current capacity,weather proofing, passage of wire through metal, wiring alongsideexisting vehicle wiring, and where wiring passes near any movingparts Knowledge of various commercially available installationaccessories such as wiring harnesses, high current power/groundwiring, circuit protection devices, etc. General knowledge andfamiliarity of the appropriate application of various fasteners forequipment mounting and those encountered during removal interiorpanels with regard to the original integrity of the vehicle andsubsequent installation Install Bluetooth hands-free cellulardevices or modules, or wireless audio streaming devices or moduleswith driver safety as a priority, and in a way that maintainsstandard vehicle operation and safety features. Hands-free devicesshould be installed in compliance with all local and Federal laws,as well as in compliance with CEA recommended practices Approachall encounters with employees, customers and vendors in a friendly,service-oriented manner. Always maintain appropriateconfidentiality of all verbal and/or documented information. Otherprojects and tasks as assigned. III. Responsibilities Fluency inEnglish, Spanish is a plus Applicants must pass drug test Validdriver’s license and a clean driving record is strongly preferredTravel in company vehicle to all locations in New Jersey, New YorkState, New York City, Pennsylvania, and Ohio as needed. Overnightstay(s) could required (Rare) Three years (3) professionalexperience is preferred. Training at an installation related schoolor program is a plus Should have a strong knowledge of PC’s, USBperipherals, Bluetooth, Serial (RS-232), Cellular Data, etc.
