The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between customers and the service department, ensuring that all service needs are met efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for customer service in the automotive industry. Responsibilities Greet customers and assess their service needs with professionalism and courtesy. Prepare accurate estimates for repairs and services, utilizing auto estimating skills. Collaborate with service technicians to ensure clear communication regarding repair requirements. Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service requests, and vehicle history. Handle cash transactions accurately while ensuring compliance with dealership policies. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Stay informed about automotive repair trends, diesel engine repair, and dealership offerings to provide informed recommendations. Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business. Experience Previous experience as a Service Writer or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of automotive repair processes are essential. Familiarity with cash handling procedures is required. Experience in automotive sales or as a mechanic is a plus. Proficiency in aligning customer needs with appropriate services offered by the dealership is beneficial.
