Automotive Mechanic Diane’s Downtown Automotive 435 West State Street, Ithaca, NY 14850 Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our busy shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in automotive diagnostics and repair. We work on a variety of Asian and domestic vehicles, performing maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all repairs meet our high standards. This Automotive Mechanic will play a crucial role in providing excellent service to our customers. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive automotive diagnostics to identify issues and recommend necessary repairs. Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire changes, and brake inspections. Repair or replace defective parts efficiently and thoroughly. Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies. Work with co-workers to ensure timely completion of service requests. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with continuous hands-on experience in automotive repair. Proficient in automotive diagnostics with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Familiarity with schematics and technical databases for various vehicle models. Experience using hand tools, power tools and shop equipment safely and effectively. Knowledge of best automotive service practices, including routine maintenance procedures. Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to be thorough in all services Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and co-workers
